14 Weeks & Growing...

Praise the Lord - the nausea is subsiding!!!  I haven't had a headache all week either... the only negative thing that has happened is lower back pain.  I have been laying on my heating pad before I go to bed though and that seems to help!  We had a great doctors visit yesterday - short and sweet... blood pressure, weight, heart beat... checked out perfect!  HELLO 2ND TRIMESTER... I LOVE YOU!!! =)

The baby is about 3 1/2 inches - about the size of a lemon - and weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

The week's major developments:  The baby can now squint, frown, pee, and suck his/her thumb!  By the end of the week the arms will have grown in proportion to the body.

I looked back at my weekly pictures with Christian and I am showing completely different this time... My baby belly was so low with him and straight out... This one is super high and all around!  Not quite as cute as last time! haha!! 

Wives Tale Wednesday!

As the old wives' tale has it, if your unborn baby's heart rate is higher, above 140 beats per minute, that means you're carrying a girl. A lower heart rate below 140 bpm means you're having a boy.

Our sweet little baby's heart beat has been anywhere from 157 to 178.  At our doctors appointment yesterday it was 157, the lowest it has been so far.  That still puts it in the "above 140 range" which means it would be a baby girl!!

However, studies have been done to disprove this wives tale many times... Here is one chart that shows how inaccurate it is.

Baby Appointment #2

We had our second doctors appointment today... I forgot how boring they are in the beginning when an ultrasound isn't involved.  Anywhoo... everything went great!  Blood pressure was 112/66, only gained 2 lbs - Bonus!!, and baby's heartbeat was 157.  Next appointment is in 4 weeks and we get to find out PINK or BLUE in just 6 weeks!!!  I can not wait!!  It seems so soon though... I feel like we just found out!  I rushed everything last time and this time I just want to take things in as they come just in case this one is the last.  =)

Kick Off to Memorial Weekend

What a great start it has been to Memorial Day weekend!!  We had planned on going to the lake on Friday to hang out with friends and then drive back late that night, BUT.... I had one of my biggest mommy moments yet and decided I was too afraid to be on the roads that late with the drunks!  I didn't want to risk getting in a wreck... It's insane how your thinking completely changes when you have kids!  Instead, we went to dinner at Pink Flamingo - LOVE their bbq.. and we went to see the Avengers, finally!!  My husband has been dying to see it and since he took me to see What to Expect When Expecting earlier in the week, I figured I owed it to him!  I ended up loving it!!!  Such a great movie!

Today, Saturday, we had a momma's day out!  My mom and I went to lunch, shopping, and to get my nails done.  It was such a great day - always is when I'm with my sweet mom!!  She had never been to Fuji so we had to go there for lunch.. she loved it, of course!  We went to Motherhood Maternity because they were having a sale and I got so many cute things!!  I ended up with a pair of shorts, capris, and 6 shirts!!!  Thanks, mom! :)  We also hit up the "Target area" - which is what I call it! ha!  We really only went to Carters and Charming Charlie.  I found the cutest pair of sandals there thanks to my mom.. She has a good eye!  I got a couple pairs of earrings because I'm always suckered into their jewelry, and Christian got tons of new clothes, like always!  Mom bought him a cute little Memorial Day outfit for church tomorrow!  When we got home Corey had the pool set up!  Whoohoo!!!  He has been dreading putting that thing up but I am so grateful!  Now we just have to fill it up tomorrow and hopefully it will be swim-ready for Memorial Day! =)  I am so happy to have it for Christian.. He is going to loooove all the water time!!  This evening Corey and I went out and finally re-did our main landscape bed.. We have been wanting to for a while and did all of the other ones first.  He finally got a bench that he had in mind for it so it was time to get it all done.  We pretty much pulled up everything besides the two trees and monkey grass to rearrange and throw some things out.  It looks beautiful and I am so stinkin thankful for such a hard working hubby!!!  He has been sealing all the windows while I finally finished my little chalkboard for my weekly photos - so I can finally take one tomorrow, a few days late but oh well!  Now it's time for a long hot bath and getting everyone's church clothes ironed for tomorrow!  Hope everyone has a wonderful, safe holiday!!!

13 Weeks & Growing...

I bet you can't guess what I'm going to say about this week in pregnancy... NAUSEA!  I'm so used to it by now that I don't know what it feels like to go a whole day without it! haha!  I have had days this past week that it's so bad, I have to lay down and not move... and then yesterday I barely had any at all.  I'm hoping now that I'm off work, I can relax a little and it will start to go away.... especially since this is the last week of my 1st trimester!!!! :)  That makes me so excited... There is something about the 2nd trimester that is so comforting!  I haven't felt any kicks yet - but I can not wait!!  The baby's heartbeat was 170 a couple of days ago and 162 last night.  It has stayed between 160-170 each time we've timed it.  It's just a little higher than Christian's was.  Our next doctor's appointment is Tuesday - 5 more days!!

The baby is about 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce (the size of a medium shrimp).

This week's major development:  Fingerprints have formed on the baby's little fingers and his/her body is finally catching up with the head.

Wives Tale Wednesday!

From the Chinese to the Mayan's...... The Mayan's determined the sex of the baby by taking the mother's age at conception and the year of conception.. If they are both even or both odd, it's a girl... If one is even and one is odd, it's a boy.

I'm 26 years old and conceived in 2012 - so according to the Mayan's, it's a girl!!

12 Weeks & Growing...

Whew... the nausea is obviously not going anywhere soon.  I didn't have any nausea with Christian after 7 weeks, but this one is making me sick morning, day, and night.  I have a few good days and I think it's going away and then it hits me all of a sudden.  I'm starting to get a little more energy back, but not a lot. I only had one headache this week so that was good!  The best part of this week was our heart rate monitor came in and we got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time.  It was 164 the first time and 168 that night.  I haven't listened to it the past couple of days because we have been so busy and my poor baby boy has had an ear infection. :(  He's had to have 3 shots this week and we are praying that clears it up - If not, we are looking at tubes.  I will do anything to make him feel better but I am not handling the thought of him being put under very well.  Please pray that his little ears heal.

The baby is just over 2 inches and is about the size of a lime.

This weeks major developments:  Reflexes.  The baby's face looks unquestionably human.  The eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his/her head and the ears are right where they should be.

I'm working on my chalkboard right now so I can start posting weekly belly pictures.. Hopefully I'll get that done this weekend! :)

Wives Tale Wednesday!

So... I think it is so much fun to read all the gender predictions of the old wives tales!  I decided that I would start a "Wives Tale Wednesday" countdown until the gender reveal! :)  I think it will be fun to look back on which ones matched up and which didn't, even though they are all insane! ha!  So, each week I will do a different gender prediction!

I'm going to start with the good ole Chinese.... who claim to be 90% accurate... hehe!

 If their 90% claim to fame is true... guess we will be having another sweet baby boy!!! =)

Mother's Day

It was one of the best days... everything was just perfect!  I woke up to the sweetest husband and little boy cooking breakfast, flowers, cards, and gifts.  I had three separate cards... one from Corey, one from Christian, and one from Khloe! haha I thought that was hilarious and really sweet of Corey!  Khloe even got me a Malco gift card. ;)  Christian got me a new CHI max air.... I was very surprised!  I didn't even really know how in the world Corey knew to buy me this.  I asked him what made him think of it and he said he heard me griping about mine being so old when I was getting ready one morning, and he remembered!  I mean, how sweet!!  We all got ready and went to church.  It was a great service and all the mom's got Beth Moore devotionals.  That was really sweet.  My mother in law and her boyfriend met us at church and then we all went to lunch at Catfish Hole.  Christian loves hush puppies and so does momma! :)  Christian was exhausted by the time we got home so we all took a 2 hour nap.. it was so nice!  Corey had planned on taking me to pick out flowers to plant, so we headed to Lowe's after we woke up.  I got a lot of beautiful flowers and monkey grass and he planted them all for me.  We finished up one side of our landscape beds, the barrel, and the landscaping around the mailbox - Corey is doing lawns and landscaping now and he is wonderful!!!  He's such a perfectionist and such a hard worker... I'm just so proud of him!

I got to hang out with my momma a lot over the weekend and that always make me happy!!  I am soooo blessed to have such an amazing mom who is also my very best friend!!  Our preacher talked about raising your children in church and to know God and that is exactly what she did.  I owe her big time for raising me the way she did and I will do the very same thing for Christian.  She took me shopping on Saturday for Mother's Day and I enjoyed that time with her so much!!  After we got home from Lowe's, my dad and step mom came over and brought me a card and chocolate covered strawberries.  It was really sweet... and I finally got my chocolate covered strawberries!!!  I've been craving them for weeks!  They stayed and hung out with Christian for a while and visited.  When everyone left, we went in the backyard and played and Corey cooked out.  Christian LOVES being outside!!  He is the happiest when he's playing in the yard!  He learned to climb up the stairs on our back porch and that is pretty much all he wanted to do... I bet he climbed up and down 50 times! ha!!  Core grilled steaks and they were delicious!!!  We had the best dinner and Christian loved it, too!  He even ate salad with us... haha That boy will eat anything!  I know this is nothing new and may not be a big deal but it is to me and last night it just hit me.. My husband always prays before we eat dinner and I don't know if he understands how special that is to me.  I finally told him last night... It means so much to me that Christian will grow up with that being the norm.  I love that man so much... he sure has my heart and I am beyond blessed to have him as my husband!!!

Well, that pretty much wraps up my wonderful Mother's Day... I am not deserving of the special people in my life but I sure am blessed and thank God for them everyday.  The greatest gift of all is being sweet Christian's mommy and to think we have another little angel on the way is just pure bliss!!!

11 Weeks & Growing...

Yesterday was 11 weeks and the worst day I have had of pregnancy yet!  I was seriously sick from the time I woke up until I went to sleep.  Not just a little nauseous... horribly nauseous!!  I don't know what the deal was... I have never had a day that bad, not even during my pregnancy with Christian.  This one has definitely made me a lot more sick.  I was only nauseous for a couple of weeks with him.... we are going on about 4-5 with this one, some weeks better than others.  I didn't get sick much at all last week and thought it was over - too good to be true.  As I'm typing this I'm wondering if I'm going to make it to lunch without taking a zofran!  I've also had 3 headaches this week.. maybe the baby is doing some serious growing or moving around!  I ordered a fetal doppler so it should be coming in any day... I can't wait to be able to listen to the heartbeat any time I want!

 The baby is just over 1 1/2 inches long and is about the size of a fig.

This weeks major developments:  The baby is now almost fully formed!  Tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums and some of the bones are beginning to harden.  The baby is already busy kicking and stretching.

I'm officially showing.  I think I'm carrying low but my mom says it's higher than last time.  I can definitely tell I'm pregnant, but you might just think I'm fat if you didn't know.  I'll be posting a belly pic soon! :)

15 Months

I have not been very good at writing monthly posts about Christian on my blog.  I write things down in his book but not on here.... So, I'm going to try to start that!  What if something terrible happens and I lose the book, at least I will always have this!  

Christian, you are 15 months old now.... The time is flying by way too fast!!  You are the sweetest, happiest little boy I have ever been around.  You are so laid back and the easiest baby in the world.... You are the absolute love of my life!!

*You wear a size 18 months in clothes, size 4-5 in shoes, and size 4 in diapers. You went to the doctor yesterday and you weigh 23 lbs.

* You are walking/running all over the place. And climbing. And you would be outside 24/7 if I let you!

*You go to sleep between 6:30-7:30 and sleep until usually 7:00.  You are SUCH a great sleeper!!

*You have 7 teeth now... two bottom, 3 front top, and 2 back top molars are coming through right now.

*You still love baths and the dogs, not only ours but other people's as well. You play well with your toys and books and normally keep yourself pretty entertained.  You are so good at sorting blocks and even colors at times... very smart little boy!  As you were putting your blocks up the other night you even said two of the colors!  You love puzzles and you really love anything you can push around!   
*You say several words now and that might be the cutest thing ever to listen to you talk!!

*You still like taking 2 naps a day, one mid-morning and one in the afternoon.  When you do only take one nap it usually lasts 3-4 hours.. you just love your sleep!

*You are mastering the fit-throwing which can be stressful and cute all at the same time.  Daddy finds nothing cute about it, however! "No" is not your favorite word. You also tend to throw a fit if I try to feed you or brush your teeth because you like to do everything yourself.

*You still love everyone. No strangers in your world. You are happy go lucky and just a joy to be around honestly.  Everyone at church and daycare love watching you because they say you are an angel baby... I agree. :)

I love you more than life itself and can't imagine life without you!!!  You are going to be the best big brother ever and this baby is incredibly lucky to have you!

10 Weeks & Growing...

I'm 1/4 of the way there!! haha! ;)  Seriously though, it is flying by... I mean we found out when I was only 3 weeks along because I took a test the VERY first day I was able to, with the test that detects it 7 days before! haha!  Yes, I am a little impatient... but we were very anxious to find out!  So, here we are 10 weeks into the pregnancy and things are just great!  The nausea is gone and I'm getting a little bit of my energy back.  We had our first doctors appointment and got to see the baby (previous post)!  Now it's the exciting wait to find out the gender in 10 more weeks... I can't wait!!

The baby is a little over an inch or so long and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce AND has now completed the most critical part of his/her development. :) YAY!!

This weeks major developments:  The baby is now swallowing and kicking up a storm.  Peach fuzz hair is starting to grow on the skin and the baby's limbs can bend now.  His/her forehead temporarily bulges with the developing brain and sits very high on his/her head, which measures half the length of the body.

*

Exciting news.... the belly has arrived!!!  I swear it was over night... It just popped out!  I was looking back at pictures and it was pretty hard to tell I was pregnant until about 18 weeks last time.... I've had several people tell me when you have babies back to back that your belly comes back quick, and boy were they right!!  I'm extremely excited about it!! :)  I MIGHT start belly pictures... We'll see!

Ultrasound... Finally!!

  
We got to see our newest edition yesterday... <3  We both forgot how amazing it is to see that little baby for the first time... God is SO good!!!  Everything looked great and the heart was just fluttering away. :)  We got some really great pictures showing the little bitty arms and legs.  I have gained 4 lbs so far and I'm finally feeling great!  Our due date is November 29th!!
