Harrison - 6 months

6 months old - halfway to being one already... can not believe it!!  Your looks are starting to change a lot from baby to little boy.  Your smile lights up a room and it's so infectious.  Everyone says you look just like your mommy... and I love it!!  I think you are a little doll baby!!!  Your eyes are such a beautiful blue and you are finally getting some hair... it is almost white, it's so blonde.  A lady at the mall said "she is beautiful" the other day... I know you will kill me later for writing that but I thought it was funny... When she realized you were a boy after seeing what you were wearing she apologized and said you are just so pretty. ;)
*
You are wearing 9 month clothes mostly but some things you can wear 12 months.  You can wear 3-6 month and 6 month bottoms.  You have a long torso though so 9 mo and 12 mo shirts and onesies are the only things that are long enough.  You wear size 2 shoes but your shoes are starting to get a little tighter.  You wear size 3 diapers.
*
You are a wonderful sleeper.  I can't thank you enough for this!!  You are still in the pack and play in our room because I'm not ready for you to go to your room yet.  We will work on that transition while I'm home this summer.  You go to sleep at 8:00 and wake up between 7-8 in the morning, drink a bottle, and go back to sleep for an hour or two.  Crazy!  You take a 3 hour nap after lunch time... finally on the same schedule as your big brother.  This makes mommy so happy!! =)
*
You are such a happy baby!!!  I can just look at you and make you smile.  You make the sweetest sounds and you're starting to babble.  You giggle a lot!  You said momma a few weeks ago but I've only heard you say it one time since then.  You only say it when you're really upset, which is rare.
*
You are a little rollie pollie... You roll from tummy to back all over the place.  You kind of sit up but not for very long before toppling over.  You are starting to get the hang of it better though.  You get up like you are going to crawl and you're starting to rock back and forth a little bit so I know that is coming soon.  You scoot yourself to get to your toys though.  You are outgrowing your bathtub quickly so I hope you start sitting up by yourself really well pretty soon.  Anything I lay you in, you try to sit up... you are getting abs of steel from this! haha!
*
You also started eating cereal and baby food.  At first, you hated cereal... now I'm thinking it was more of getting used to the spoon because you love it now.  You really like it best with fruit mixed in - pears are your favorite.  You have tried apple sauce (not a huge fan), pears, green beans, and squash.  You love the vegetables a whole lot!  You have cereal and fruit in the mornings, half a vegetable for lunch and the other half for dinner, along with your bottles... which you are eating 6 oz at a time for the most part unless you skip out on solids for a meal, then you drink 8 oz.
*
You also started going to church nursery for the first time this month and you LOVE it.  You were getting so bored in church so we decided to let you try it out and you enjoy it a lot more.  You especially love sitting in the walker with the mirror so you can look at yourself and smile.  Every time I pick you up after church is over you are usually sound asleep on one of the sweet ladies because they like to cuddle you.  On Wednesday nights you and your buddies, Lawson and Eden, get to play! =)
*
You are such a precious baby boy and we love you more than words could ever express.

You are way too little to be standing up!

 Strong little legs!
 KBC Crawfish Boil

 Blondie!!
 SUCH a momma's boy!!!

NOT a fan of cereal at first.... LOL
 Best Friends
Your big brother loves to feed you!

Big brother snuck and gave you some of his ice cream cone... You were in heaven!
GUILTY: Ice cream faces!!
LOVE my little bit!

And last but not least... a comparison picture of you and your big brother... You guys are starting to look more and more different each month I think.
I can not get over how much you look like me and how much C looks like daddy!!  Love how God works!!

Growing in Christ

I'm finally at a place in my life where I feel I rely completely on God for my decisions.  I've been saved since I was 7 years old but I don't know that I've ever allowed God to determine my every move.  Ultimately, He did anyway but I felt like it was me in control of my life.  Which is exactly why I made a lot of mistakes.  I've always prayed - can't say I've went a day without praying in.... well, I can't even remember.  But recently I've truly understood the REAL POWER of prayer and how important it is.  Prayer shouldn't just be about asking for forgiveness and going to the Lord when in need.  Most importantly it should be to thank Him for the endless blessings we have.  I want to have His permission before making decisions.  Even something as small as buying a new washer and dryer - which we finally did this week - I prayed about it first.  Was this something we needed to be spending our money on right now??  I think He always give us a sense of peace about it or a feeling of, "it's not a good idea right now."

I want to grow in Christ every single day.  I'm a total planner and I have bulleted lists all over the place.  If it works in every other aspect of my life, it can also work for me to reach some goals I have as a Christian.  This bulleted list is just a little harder to check off because it's not after I've completed the task... It's when I feel I've completely accomplished it, made it a habit, and a part of my life.  I have so much growing to do and I don't believe we ever stop growing but I plan on writing about the things that I feel like I've done a better job at and let God take control of.  I like to post these blogs from time to time in case anyone can get anything from it.  Believe me, it's not because I think I'm a great writer by any means.... but if it helps one person, hey it was worth it!

One other area I've been working on for a while is not comparing myself to others.  Not at all.  Jealousy and envy are not of God and I have had to remind myself of that a lot while working on this.  Not only did I have to pray about this.... I had to become happy with MYSELF.  I had to learn to love myself and know that no matter what others think or what I think, Jesus thinks I'm PERFECT.  He made me just the way I'm suppose to be.  Now I will be honest, in order for me to get to the point that I was happy with myself, I had to do some changing.  I was not happy with my body.... who is after having two babies??  A healthy diet and working out very hard has paid off... I have a long way to go but I can finally say I'm happy with the way I look.  Not that looks matter, but it does make you feel better about yourself and definitely makes you more confident.  Also, we are suppose to be healthy.  Our body is our temple.  (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)  I found myself comparing myself to others and the way they looked.... all while eating junk food and sitting on the couch.  Umm... that made no sense, right?  So, I got off my rear and made it happen and I feel great!  I don't have to tell myself to not compare myself to others because I love me and I would never want to be anyone else.  My sweet hubby loved my body just as much when I was 9 months pregnant as he does now... but come on, we all know that our hubby's benefit from our confidence we have in the way we look.... and I'll just leave it at that.  Also, the hardest one of all.... not wanting what others have.  Material things... houses, cars, just stuff.  I can't say I will ever get to the point that I don't see someones house and think, "gosh, I'd love to have that!"  We are human.  But I think by praying about anything we decide we "need" has helped with this a LOT!  I know that we have what we have because God allowed us to.  He has blessed us with so much more than we will ever deserve. Why would I want for anything??  I don't take things for granted as much now... and I truly appreciate all of our blessings.

Anyway... I just felt led to share this.  Mainly for me to look back on one day and read.  I write down things that I am really praying hard about and I LOVE to look back and see how God answers them or does not answer them months or years later.  In fact, I would encourage anyone to keep a prayer journal - it is by far one of the best things I've done!  Isn't it amazing how He has everything under control and ALWAYS knows best.

If you are reading this and you have never been saved I hope this pulls at your heart. Imagine waking up every morning with a sense of purpose and importance.  Imagine going through every dark time in life with hope, knowing that your pain is not unnoticed and that it really will all turn out for the best.  Imagine also having someone to thank for every one of the brightest moments and best parts of life - for love and success and contentment.  Most of all - imagine an ETERNAL life in HEAVEN!!  All you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart.  Pray about it.  Write me, I'd be happy to talk to you about it and pray with you.  Most of all, come with me to church!!  We attend Kibler Baptist Church and it's not just a church... it's so much more... we are a family!

Easter

PERFECT pretty much sums up our Easter weekend.  It was raining Saturday morning so our egg hunt at church got cancelled.  We decorated bunny cookies instead and Christian loved it.  He loves making things in the kitchen with me and he gets SO excited any time I tell him to go get his stool.  He runs as fast as he can, scoots the rug over to wherever I am, puts his stool down, and hops right up!  It is one of my favorite things.  It was nice to relax all morning.  We went to my Aunt Vickie and Uncle Warren's house later that afternoon for a cook out and egg hunt.  Christian had so much fun playing with Madley!  It was just as much fun watching Corey and Jason hide the eggs as it was watching the kids find them... lol  Jason and I grew up being very close... he was like my brother because we were only children, so it's awesome to see our kids playing together.  We stayed over there for hours just hanging out and visiting... It was a great time!

Precious, right??
*
Saturday night we had fun playing the Easter Bunny.  We put bunny signs on each of the boys doors so the bunny would know where to go. ;)  Christian enjoys my cheesiness! haha  The Easter Bunny also sent him a letter earlier that week.  We only put silly little fun things he could play with and candy in their baskets.  I really want to stress the importance of Easter and what it's TRUE meaning is.  I found this little printable that you put with an empty egg and it talks about how the tomb was found empty - perfect!  We made a line of eggs that went from C's room to his Easter basket and he just loved that.  It was fun watching him find it and dig through it. =)  Then, got everyone ready for church and off we went!  After church we ate with my dad and spent the rest of the day napping.  We went to my moms for dinner and had a great time there too... The boys got another basket of goodies.  We came home and gave them their big basket from their Mimi too... Christian was so excited he kept getting things! haha  We read The Easter Story to Christian before we put him to bed and he really listened... He pointed to Jesus on every page.  There is nothing better than hearing a 2 year old say, Jesus.. SO sweet!!  Corey and I watched The Bible finale after the boys went to bed and cried like a baby.  I can not fathom what He went through for MY sins.  I am not deserving of His love but I am so thankful that He believes I am.  It really puts things into perspective when you watch Him being beat and nailed to a cross.  Petty sins that I am guilty of every day are definitely on my mind a whole lot more now to be cautious of what comes out of my mouth.  I can do better... I will always be able to do better... and that is exactly what I plan on doing!  Corey and I talked about how we want so badly to get to a point that our ENTIRE life and being is 100% focused on God... all of our decisions, moves, and everything we do.  I don't want to do anything that is not in His will for our life.  We will also continue to pray together every night that our boys will grow up knowing the Lord, for their salvation, and they both marry Godly women that bring out the very best in them.  The MOST important thing I will do in this world is teach my boys about God, to know Him, and to honor Him in everything they do.

I am HIS because HE is ALIVE!!!

Harrison - 4 months

I say this every month... but I can't believe you are already 4 months old.  You are growing up way too fast but we are enjoying every minute!  I will find out how much you weigh and how much you have grown at your appointment next week so I will post that then.  Your look has changed so much over the month.  You are starting to look like a baby boy instead of a newborn.  You are absolutely adorable.  You smile with your eyes and they light up the room.
*
You are already wearing 6 month clothes.  You are too long to wear a lot of 3-6 month clothes so we have to shop mainly at Carter's because their 6 month fits perfect.  You wear size 2 diapers.  You wear a size 2 shoe and I'm so happy about that because you can wear TOMS now!  I already ordered you a pair and you wore them in your Easter pictures.  They are so stinking cute and the same color as C's.  I'm thinking you are going to have big feet just like he does.  He's already wearing a size 9 and 9 1/2.
*
You have been sleeping through the night since you were about 9 weeks old.  You were sleeping from 7ish-5ish but since the time change you have been going to bed around 7:30 every night and you sleep until 7 or 8 the next morning.  I don't know how we were so blessed with amazing sleepers, but thank you, Lord.
*
You have beautiful grayish-blue eyes.  They are about the same color as mine but a little more deep blue.  Your hair is starting to fall out.  You have a complete bald spot that looks like a ring around your head.  A few nights ago was the first time I could see the new hair coming in and it is bright blonde.  You still have quite a bit of hair on the top though but it's thinning out quickly.  It always makes me sad to see the baby hair go. :(
*
You seriously smile ALL.THE.TIME.  You are the happiest baby I've ever seen in my life.  when you smile, your entire face lights up and you smile so much with your beautiful eyes.  It completely melts my heart.  You coo and laugh a lot.  You have started making a new noise and it sounds like "boooo" and you blow bubbles while you do it.  SO cute!
*
You officially HATE tummy time.  You used to love it... I'm not sure what happened.  Your Nana has a theory about this though..... she thinks it's because I never put you down.  She said  you will have developmental delays because I want to hold you all the time. (joking of course, haha!)  You have rolled tummy to back a few times but mainly back to tummy and never during "play time"... only when you get mad if I put you on your back to sleep and you flip over.  Therefore, I rarely get to see it.  This goes back to me holding you far too much. ;)  You have already started inch worm crawling and you can get pretty far - clear across the pack n play and crib - scares me to death.  I actually put you back in the rock n play sleeper because I'm just too scared right now.  Once I see you are rolling all the time with no trouble I will put you back in your crib.  Your favorite things right now are the vibrating chair, laying in the floor in bubba's room while he plays, your play mat because you like to grab at all the toys and make a lot of noise, your kangaroo pouch, and most of all...... being held!
*
You never cry... like ever.  You have seriously been the best baby ever so far... even better than your brother and that seems impossible really.  The only thing that has ever been a problem and really it's not a problem at all is that you didn't like taking naps, but last week you started taking a long nap, about two hours, every day.  I think that's why you have started sleeping in later in the mornings because you are well rested.  It just seems crazy that you are already sleeping 12 hours at night.  Thank you for being such a perfect little bundle of joy.
*
Here is the monthly comparison picture... I think you and your brother have a lot of similarities but I think Christian is a spitting image of your daddy and you look a whole lot like me!! Everyone says your my little mini-me and I'm happily okay with that! ;)
*
You have no idea yet how much your big brother LOVES you but you will get it one day soon.... You two already have such a strong bond and it makes me cry a lot because it is so sweet.  He wants to be everywhere you are and wants to take care of you all the time.  There honestly has not been one moment of jealousy yet and if you aren't in the room with us, he is asking for you.  That might be another reason why I hold you so much... he likes you to be right there with him when he's playing.  I can not wait until you are sitting up on your own because you two will have a lot of fun playing with toys together.  You two make me happier than I could have ever imagined.  I love you so much baby bird!!
