Christian Randomness

This post is mainly so I don't forget some of the little things that Christian is doing/saying right now.... I want to read back all the cute/sweet little things one day.

First of all, Christian has memorized his little bedtime prayer and before dinner prayer and he says them now.... and it completely melts my heart.  He makes me feel like if I haven't done anything else right in this world, at least I'm doing the best I can with my boys.

We were at dinner the other day with the whole family and one of the little black menus was on the middle of the table. He picked it up and told everyone it was a bible. So sweet.

He is really starting to use his imagination to play a lot lately. He has been pretending big blue (for some reason) spiders are on the wall and he has to squirt them with his water hose (which is also not real... lol). It's so cute to watch him run around shooting them off with water.. ha!

He can count to 12 (random, I know) without help but he is getting pretty good at making it to 20!  He knows his colors... He's known his basic colors for a while now but now he's getting pink, purple, and the more complicated ones down. We are working on the ABC's. He's great at singing a lot of the song but he's mostly memorized it as a song. I'm trying to start on letter recognition with him so he really learns them. He is doing really great with shapes and learning those.. just the other night he was playing a shape game on the iPad and I was SHOCKED at all the shapes he knew like hexagon and octagon. He yells "octagon" when we stop at a stop sign. I will say that I work with him and he stays home with Corey (on his days off) and my mom the other days and they work with him a lot, but the iPad has been worth every penny. He has learned so much from his learning apps!

He is really into singing right now and he has a lot of songs that we have to sing before bed each night - "These are the sounds that the animals make" "No more monkeys jumping on the bed" (as he shakes his little finger back and forth) "BINGO" (he has a little dance to this one, so cute!) "Jesus loves me" "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Hickory dickory dock" - I told you he is serious about his songs.. haha!!

He has recently started calling me mom this week and it's kind of breaking my heart.  I keep telling him that I want him to still call me mommy or momma and he just replies, "no, you're mom." Wah!  Daddy has also turned into "dad." I thought we had at least a few more years but I guess not.

Some of his favorite things right now are his bubby (they are the best of buds and play together so great), wagon rides with the whole family - including Khloe, Mickey Mouse, puzzles, playing with his cars, football with dad, cooking with momma, going to Nana's house, he's obsessed with hang gliding because of Papa and he calls him a super hero (super sweet and my dad absolutely loves this), fire trucks, going to see the chickens at Mimi's house, and the kid loves cows! He got to pet a cow at the fair the other night, thanks to a sweet farmer, and he was in heaven.

He rode his first ride at the fair all by himself. I expected him to cry for me once I left him but no.. he loved it and wanted to ride it over and over.

He seriously has the biggest and sweetest heart of anyone I've ever known in my life.  Our lives are abundantly blessed with him in it... he truly is our little miracle!!!

It's Fall at the Ivo's!

I LOVE HOLIDAYS or shall I say seasons... pretty much anything that requires festiveness and decorations!  First of all, the fact that football season is finally here makes me all kinds of happy and solidifies that it is officially Fall.  I will confess, I did set out one pumpkin before Labor Day, which breaks my rules but oh well.  We spent Labor Day decorating the outside of our house and giving our landscape beds a make over.  My hubby is the hardest worker I know and he's talented at pretty much everything.. I feel very blessed!  I wish I would have taken a before/after pic because it is such a huge difference.  I love, love, LOVE going to Lowe's and Home Depot to pick out things for the house.... It's probably my favorite kind of shopping to do these days!  We re-mulched, replaced all of our landscape lighting, added some pots of mums and oriental grass, and of course put a couple of scare crows out on our bench.  We finally moved the bird bath, too, which we have been meaning to do forever.. It is just so heavy and awkward! I absolutely love how everything looks and I'm so thankful my home is my happy place.  I'm in love with it and most important, I'm completely in love with the people in it!!

First Razorback game of the season! WPS!!
Harrison demolished a Halloween Oreo and it's pretty obvious that he loved it!! haha!
