22 Weeks & Growing...

22 weeks... Seems like every week when it's time to post it goes by faster and faster.  I find myself wondering if I'm really correct on the weeks because it feels like I just got done writing the last weekly post.  Not a huge fan of how fast it's flying by and the fact that I go back to work in less than 2 weeks will make it go even quicker.  I'm feeling great and I have a lot of energy.  I had a doctors appointment last Friday and it all went great.. I'm still only gaining about 1.5-2 lbs each month so that is perfect!  We are making a little more progress on the room.  We are having a yard sale this weekend to get rid of so much stuff that we no longer have room for so that will help a lot!  I plan on getting it all cleaned out and painted next week.

Harrison weighs about 1 lb and is a little over 11 inches long.
*
This week's major developments:  His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums.  His eyes are formed but still lack pigment.  He finally looks like a miniature newborn now.
*
The boys' bathroom is finally complete.  Their towels came in today and I LOVE it so much!!  It's just perfect for them! =)

Weekend Getaway

We just got home from Branson last night and we had such a great little getaway!!  Our anniversary was last Tuesday so we wanted to go out of town to celebrate and have some quality time together... It was our first time away from Christian!  Leaving him was soooo stinkin hard but I knew he was in great hands with my mom!  She kept me sane with pictures and videos. :)  We left Friday morning and checked in our hotel that afternoon - We stayed at the Grand Plaza Hotel and it was super nice!!  We were a little bummed out that we waited too long to reserve a resort but our room at the hotel ended up being perfect.  We had a great view, the most comfy bed and pillows, a jacuzzi, and free delicious breakfast each morning.  I packed my cutest outfits and best hair product and what do ya know.... wore everything I packed that was comfy, little to no make up, and hair was up the entire time! ha!!  I am lucky that my husband prefers it that way and I don't have anyone else to impress! :)
*
After we checked in Friday we took a nap.... Laugh if you want to but this was #1 on the agenda since we were toddler-less. lol  Then we got ready and went to dinner at Montana Mike's, a steakhouse on the strip.  It was pretty good but nothing special.  Then we did a little shopping at the outlets before our show started.  We went to see Joseph and Sight and Sound Theatre... It was AMAZING!!!  I would highly recommend it to anyone!  The place itself was beautiful, inside and out.  The story was great and it was nice to be surrounded by great christian people... lots of amens and tears! ;)
*
Saturday morning we went upstairs for breakfast and then headed out to shop again!  We had a couple hours of shopping before we headed to the IMAX to see Dark Knight Rises.  It was soooo good and even better seeing it at the IMAX!!!  We got there almost 2 hours early, ordered a pizza, and sat in line and ate while waiting.  We are nerds and it was super important that we were toward the front because we wanted back row seating - which is the best at the IMAX.  We got back row, middle... which is exactly what we wanted... and had a great time sitting there in line being nerds and chatting away.  I love that I married my very best friend... I could be stuck anywhere with him and it would make for a great day!  After the movie we went back to the hotel, got ready for dinner, and headed out.  We went to Cantina Laredo on the landing.  It is our favorite mexican restaurant ever... SO good!!  We had to wait a very long time but we made some Ukranian friends and had great conversation.  We did a little shopping afterwards and then went to play putt-putt.  We didn't get back to the hotel until around 11:00.. It was a long day/night for this pregnant lady! Whew!!
*
Sunday morning after breakfast we went shopping... again!!  I have a wonderful husband that didn't complain about the excessive shopping one time.  Except that I spent $75 on three things for Christian at GAP... he thought that was pretty stupid and now that I think about it, it was... lol  He is 1 1/2.... and doesn't even know what he is wearing... but I bought the cutest jeans in the world there and it was worth it to me at the time! ;)  Christian and Harrison got quite a bit of stuff, Corey got 6 or 7 new polos, and I got a few outfits to start back work in, some make up, and a new diaper bag!!  I always go in COACH just to admire mostly, but that sweet husband of mine likes to surprise me with whatever I carry around the store for more than 10 minutes, looking in the mirrors! haha!  And this time it was an amazing blue, aqua, and purple huge bag that is absolutely perfect for a diaper bag.  I love it and I'm very excited about it.... It was quite a bit more than the last one so the deal was I would sell the old one and that would justify the price a bit. ;)  We headed to the landing after outlet shopping and Corey got this huge hat to mow in at Bass Pro... he looks adorable in it!  I got a couple shirts from Belk that I love a whole lot, but why in the world is that place so expensive?? Geez!!  Then, we went and ate lunch at Famous Dave's - such great bbq and sweet tea!!  That was our last stop and then we headed home!  We had a wonderful weekend together and I sure got my exercise - LOTS of walking!!!  Coming home to our sweet angel was the best thing ever and ending the night with the Bachelorette season finale - Emily has such class!  Now it's time to get ready for our yard sale this weekend, work on Harrison's room, and get my classroom ready to go!

21 Weeks & Growing...

This was an exciting week - we had our ultrasound and another doctor appointment.  I'm also past the halfway mark and all seems to move really fast after that.  That causes several emotions from happy to a little sad.  I can't wait to meet baby Harrison but it has just went by so fast, again.  It's also a little bitter sweet for me to think about Christian having a brother.  I love having so much time to devote to him and I'm going to miss that.  You better believe Christian and I will have our time together though... that will never change! =)
*
Harrison is just right under 1 pound and he is about 11 inches long.
*
This week's major developments:  Initial fluttering has turned into full fledged kicks and punches.  I did not need babycenter to tell me this one!!  He is one wild little boy in there!  His eyebrows and lids are also present now.
*
I've gained about 8 lbs total.  That seems fine to me... I had gained more at this point with Christian.  I'm not too worried about it but I would like to stay in the 20's of total weight gain if at all possible!!  I've been watching my portions since I want to eat all the time, taking in more water, and sticking with my small workouts.  =)

20 Week Ultrasound & Appointment

We had our big ultrasound this morning - Even though we already knew what we are having, I was still very anxious for this ultrasound because it's a peace of mind that everything is alright.  He is a little doll and constantly on the move.  We got some great pictures and a DVD of him moving all over the place.  He was mostly on my left side and he's breech at the moment.  He weighs just right under a pound and his little heart beat was 150.
 How precious is he?!
*
We had our doctor appointment right after the ultrasound.  It was short and sweet.  I gained 2 lbs, everything seemed right on track, and he already had all of the measurements and info from the ultrasound sent over and we got to go over that, too.  Everything checked out perfect - Thank you, Lord!!  He is measuring pretty much right on... just a couple days early so we are sticking with the November 29 due date. =)  I came home and got my ultrasound pictures out of Christian to compare.  They have some similarities but I think they are also a lot different.  It's easier to tell by watching the DVD but here are their profile shots... What do you think?

20 Weeks & Growing...

HALFWAY THERE!!! <3  It just seems beyond crazy to me that I'm at the halfway point already.  It is going by so fast now.  It's a little scary to know the next 19-20 weeks are going to go so fast and here baby Harrison will be!!  I'm telling you, I have nothing ready for his arrival.  I do have ideas and some of those ideas are works in progress.... We put the crib up finally and I just received a confirmation that the changing table was delivered today, so I guess that makes me feel a little better.  The room, however, is a disaster.  It's like our work out room/office/guest room all combined.... not a good situation at the moment.  I MUST have a yard sale very soon.. I have a LOT to get rid of before we can really start in on his room.  Oh, I also have the paint color picked out! :)  I love it!  Another exciting moment of the week was my good friend, who is only 2 weeks behind me, found out she is having a boy, too!!  We already have boys around the same age, just 7 months apart, and now we are having another set even closer - how much fun will that be?!
*
Harrison is about 7 inches long and weighs about 11 ounces.
*
This week's major developments:  He's starting to swallow a lot, which is good practice for his digestive system.
*
We have our big 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday - We can't wait to see our little boy!!
Right between 20 and 21 weeks

4th of July

Warning: This post will have a ton of pictures!!  We had such a great holiday... we celebrated mostly on the 3rd with family.  Tuesday night we had my mom, Curt, my father in law, bother in law, sister in law, and little niece over to eat and watch the Alma firework show from our house.  We have a great view of it from where we live so we don't have to fight the crowd!  We had a great time... My mom and Curt took Christian shopping for smoke bombs and snap dragons earlier in the day and we played with those outside - He LOVED it!!!
Digging through his bag of fireworks!

He was stomping on the snap dragons - So cute!

19 Weeks & Growing...

I'm a little late posting this week and I have a couple more posts that I have been meaning to write but the business of the holiday has me all behind!  19 weeks - 1 week away from being halfway there!!! ;)  Although, I kind of think of this week as my halfway point since little C came 2 weeks early and I'm quite sure I will get induced a week early if I make it to 39 because I'm completely fine with NOT experiencing the full 40!  Which brings me to my next question..... I'm kind of having a hard time deciding whether or not induction is a good or bad thing.  I had decided I would wait until we got to that point last time and we never made it and it was really nice going into labor naturally.... HOWEVER, I love the idea of it being planned because I'm a HUGE planner!! =)  Opinions??  How was your experience with this??  I really need feedback, people! ;)
*
Harrison is about 6 inches long and weighs about 8 1/2 ounces.
 *
This week's major developments:  He can hear us talk to him now!!  His arms and legs are in proportion to the rest of his body now, and he's starting to sprout hair!  (What an exciting week!)
*
I thought it was funny that at the end of my update from babycenter this week it said, "Think your big now?  You'll start growing even faster in the weeks to come."  Awesome!! lol ;)  I actually do not feel like a blimp.  He's starting to poke straight out like Christian... I guess I just went through an awkward all over fatness for a couple of weeks and now it's starting to be normal again.. thank goodness! haha I've been a lot better about working out lately though!  I seriously stink at taking these weekly pictures this time... I'm just not really into it.  I'll take a few here and there but not making any promises for "weekly" photos.  It could be due to the fact I look presentable only 10% of the time while on summer break! hehe =)
